Destiny 2 drops random loot drops, not randomly

Mashable interviewed Destiny 2 Game Director Luke Smith about the armor and weapons loot drop system in Destiny 2.

“There aren’t random rolls on weapons anymore. Better Devils is a Crucible hand cannon [in Destiny 2], and what it has on it is what it has on it. Period,” Luke Smith, the sequel’s director, said.

This means no more grinding the same raid or mission over and over again for the better drops! Hooray! At least for me. This means that Bungie will have an easier time balancing multiplayer battles in the Crucible, which currently can be a little frustrating for those without good weapons (not for me anymore with my Hawkmoon).

“It’s gonna give us more flexibility to do per-item tuning,” Smith said. “[That’s] something we haven’t had before because of the way we were building the [first] game.”

Many folks have noticed in promotional footage, that some weapons have mod slots which can make up for those who enjoy this feature and add some diversity to the weapons.

“We have ideas. While I would like nothing more than to share those ideas with you, we’re up against [a deadline]. I don’t know if they’ll make it for our Sept. 6 [release] date. But we have some ideas that we’re pretty excited about.”

This is very exciting for me as myself and my stream partner BeardedGamingEntertainment have been finishing up our play through of Destiny 1 which we will be finishing over the next few weeks on our twitch channels which you can find here:
